Canada’s dental-care benefit bill is now law

Low and middle-income families may soon have access to government money to help care for their kids’ dental needs.
A new dental benefit will be available as early as December 1st, while the federal Liberals work to create a dental insurance program.
Families can apply for up to $650 per child under the age of 12, if they have a household income lower than $90,000 and no private insurance.
Senators passed the bill Thursday, which also includes a one-time housing benefit of $500 for low-income renters.
