The United Nations agency tasked to help Palestinians is expected to receive some support money again.

A senior government source says the Trudeau government is considering unfreezing payments to the humanitarian body after it halted funds over the agency’s ties to Hamas.

Other major donors followed suit when several agency staff members were fired after allegedly being involved in the October 7th attacks in Israel.

Canada’s international development minister was scheduled for a press conference today – with the expectation that the restored funds would be announced – but it was abruptly cancelled 90 minutes before the presser, leaving questions about if Canada will deliver its next payment.
