Cambridge man charged with arson after Hamilton home set on fire

A Cambridge man is facing an arson charge after allegedly setting a house on fire in central Hamilton last month.
Officers responded to Burton St. around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 for reports of a fire at a home.
A family with young children were asleep within the home at the time of the fire. A neighbour extinguished the blaze and alerted the residents.

“Without the assistance of this person the fire could have resulted in a tragedy,” police said in a release.
Investigators arrested and charged 32-year-old Daniel William Arnold with arson (disregard for human life) and failing to comply with a probation order.
