Caledonia road blockades removed, roads reopened as land protest continues

First Published:

Traffic is moving again in and around Caledonia after the last of the road blockades were removed this weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police say the Ministry of Transportation completed its inspections of the roads and all necessary repairs were done.

The Highway 6 bypass and Arygle St., which were closed because of an ongoing land dispute, reopened.

Meanwhile, demonstrators remain at the McKenzie Meadows development site.

The group is pushing for a moratorium on any development in the Haldimand Tract.

The OPP says it will continue to monitor the area to ensure public safety.
