Halton police have arrested and charged a 28-year-old Burlington man with 3 counts of luring a child and making child pornography.
In July, the Halton Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E) and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated several social media platforms resulting in the charges against Eric Straughan-Ostrosky.
Straughan-Ostrosky was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Investigators are concerned there may be further victims. The man went by the username “KingExplosion” on many social media apps.
Halton Regional Police Service are reminding parents of the importance of monitoring your child’s online social media presence, and having a conversation with them about internet safety and the disclosure of personal information.
