The Burlington Canal Lift Bridge will partially reopen on Thursday.
The bridge has closed since January while undergoing repairs as a part of a $32.5-million major rehabilitation project.

Starting Thursday morning, one lane will reopen for alternating traffic. A stop light will control the intermittent flow of travel over the bridge while the project is in its second phase.
Public Services and Procurement Canada, the federal agency overseeing the project, says motorists should expect delays at the bridge.
“Cyclists and pedestrians may cross the bridge using the available pathways. Marine traffic will not be affected,” the agency said in its latest update.
The traffic restrictions will have no effect on the 2024 Around the Bay Road Race.

This latest traffic development marks a major milestone in the rehabilitation project.
According to the federal government, the work being done is expected to last through to the summer.
Previously, crews had been working to replace the decking along the lift bridge. As the project enters its second phase, crews will begin to shift their focus onto the roadway and sidewalk leading up to the bridge.
Procurement Canada says it expects this work to make the bridge safer and extend its lifespan.
