Brantford police seek parents of dead baby found in 2005

Brantford police are appealing to the public to help identify the parents of “Baby Parker”, a newborn child who was found dead at a walking trail in 2005.
Police received calls from a citizen who found the baby boy’s body near Dufferin Ave. and Parkside Dr. Officers named the boy Baby Parker.
Since then, investigators have collected hundreds of DNA samples from people living in the neighbourhood where Baby Parker was found.
The samples were sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences, however, none of them were found to have a biological link with the baby.

Police found a letter reportedly written by Baby Parker’s mother in 2005. Officers say she implied that she would contact the police, but no one ever came forward.
Ontario Provincial Police were able to generate a profile of the mother, who they believe was between 13 and 17 years old.
Aug. 17, 2023 will mark the 18-year anniversary of the memorial service in which Baby Parker was laid to rest.
Anyone with any information about this case is asked to contact Det. Const. Chris Fleming at 519-756-7050 ext. 2851.
