Brad Lamb responds to William Shatner’s tweet about Hamilton condo

Toronto developer Brad Lamb has issued a statement after being called out online by William Shatner.
Late Tuesday evening, Shatner tweeted, “Mr. @BradJLamb it has come to my attention you are using my name & caricature likeness in your brochures to sell real estate. You are also using the name & likeness of @hwinkler4real & others I do not recall giving you permission to use my name or likeness.”
On the developer’s website, the floor plan for the condo unit Shatner referred to shows the star’s name and a caricature which includes a Star Trek symbol on the jacket.
Shatner also posted a price list along with his tweet that indicates the unit costs just over $1 million.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Lamb issued a statement saying, “Television City in Hamilton, Ontario is one of our all time best developments. The development site has been the head office of CHCH since 1953. Due to the obvious television connection, I decided to name the units after my favourite TV personalities. I chose the names of stars I grew up loving to pay tribute to their legacy and to add an element of playfulness to our project.”
He went on to say, “My intention was to honour these stars, but upon receiving William Shatner’s tweet, we have since removed all mention to any person’s name on all Television City collateral. New names will be announced soon.”
