Bed bugs drawn to certain colours

First Published:

A new study finds bedbugs are attracted to certain colors more than others.

It turns out the insects really like dark red and black and are less into dazzling white and bright yellow.

Researchers figured that out by putting bedbugs in petri dishes containing little tents made of different colored paper.

The insects gravitated toward the darker tents instead of the white, yellow or green ones.

Researchers say sunny-colored suitcases or those with hard exteriors could help prevent bedbugs from hitching a ride home with you.
