A brazen attempt at stealing an ATM from a convenience store in Burlington earlier this week was caught on camera.

Police were called out to Jayy’s Cheers Convenience on Brock Avenue on March 3.

Footage captured from the incident has been circulating on social media.

In it, onlookers yell at the two suspects while they break into the store and attach chains to an ATM inside.

They attempt to drag it out, but instead break off part of the money-machines security system before seemingly giving up.

Authorities say they arrived moments after the incident took place and are investigating.

The owners of Jayy’s Cheers Convenience estimates damages to have neared $7,000.

The storefront was fixed by Friday.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The vehicle was last seen travelling westbound on Elgin Street.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Halton police at 905-825-4777.
