Arrest made in weapons investigation that prompted ‘hold and secure’ at 2 Brantford schools

A 23-year-old man has been arrested following a weapons investigation in Brantford.
Officers were called to the area of Sheridan St. and Rawdon St. around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Holy Cross and King George elementary schools were placed into a precautionary hold and secure while police were in the area.
Please be advised that due to police presence near Stanley & Grey St, King George School and Holy Cross Elementary are currently in a hold and secure. Shortly after 12:30 p.m., a 23-year-old Brantford man was arrested near the intersection of Colborne St. and Stanley St.
The hold and secures were lifted at the elementary schools.
Police say there was no immediate threat to public safety.
Investigators have not said if any charges have been laid in connection with the incident.
