Arrest made after prolonged standoff on east Hamilton Mountain

Police have arrested a 41-year-old man after a prolonged standoff on east Hamilton Mountain on Monday.
Hamilton police say members of the public reported a black transport truck driving erratically on the Stoney Creek Mountain around noon, saying it had collided with a parked vehicle and the front of a residence.
Officers arrived on scene and learned from area residents that the driver had barricaded themselves in a residence in a new subdivision in the area of Lexington Avenue.
Police say negotiators were able to resolve the incident just after 6 p.m.
The incident at Rymal Road and Lexington Avenue in #HamOnt has been resolved.
One male is under arrest.

The 41-year-old Hamilton man, who remains unidentified at this time, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault with a weapon, failure to comply with a release order and failure to stop after an accident.
