Arrest in Grimsby Assault

Niagara police have arrested a Grimsby man in relation to an assault that took place Sunday night.

22-year old Wesley Kovach is charged with two counts of assault. Officers say he was intoxicated at a bus shelter in St. Catharines when he began yelling racial slurs at a woman nearby. A male bystander tried to intervene, but says he was punched several times. Another woman also claims she was punched, but no serious injuries were sustained.
