Arkledun Ave. Walkway closes for Sam Lawrence Park construction

The Arkledun Ave. Walkway will be closed from August 20 to mid-September as Sam Lawrence Park completes the first phase of it’s construction.

The Walkway at the top of the Niagara Escarpment will be closed from Concession Street to the Keddy Access Trail down the Jolly Cut.

The City of Hamilton suggests the Keddy Access Trail, and either the James or Wentworth street stairs as alternative routes.

The construction involves the addition of asphalt to multi-use trails and increased accessibility through parking lots, concrete sidewalks and driveway improvements.

The park is also planned to have new stone seat walls, lights, improved drains and planted trees.

There is also construction underway on the east side of Concession Street between Upper Gage and Oakcrest Streets which include a new walking path along Mountain Brow.
