A full list of Hamilton’s Grey Cup Festival events this week

Hamilton’s Grey Cup festival is officially here, bringing over 40 events to showcase the city during this week’s festivities.
The festival kicks off Monday with events planned throughout the city leading up to the big game at Tim Hortons Field on Sunday.
Monday’s inaugural events are set to welcome both the Grey Cup trophy itself and the competing teams into Hamilton.
The trophy is expected to make its way to the city’s waterfront around 11:15 Monday morning.
Leading up to Sunday, fans can explore “Fan Central” events from Thursday through to Saturday at a hub on James St.
Fan Central is being produced by Hamilton’s Supercrawl and plans include live music from over 40 artists, a collection of food trucks, the Hamilton Christmas Market, photo opportunities, art installations and more all free of charge.

The Canadian Armed Forces at the John Weir Armoury will be providing an interactive football-themed area with activities, obstacle courses and an exhibit from the Canadian football Hall of Fame.
Hamilton won’t be the only city with football on the mind this week. Niagara Falls will host the 2023 Canadian Football League Awards at the Fallsview Casino on Thursday, with a special performance from hit-rapper Shaggy.

The Built in the Hammer Grey Cup music Festival will have country power-house Carrie Underwood at the FirstOntario for what is set to be a “unprecedented celebration of world-class music and Canadian football.”
The Grey Cup Santa Claus Parade will also take place downtown on Saturday. The holiday classic will take a football twist with the addition of CFL cheer teams and the Grey Cup trophy, as well as festival-themed giveaways throughout the parade.

Game day itself will kick off with an outdoor tailgate event at 2 p.m. and a block party with food and music throughout the Stipley neighbourhood surrounding the stadium to get fans ready to celebrate the 110th Grey Cup game at 6 p.m.
The block party is set to be headlined by Hamilton’s own Juno Award-winning group Monster Truck. Boy Golden and Born and the Eighties will also be performing as part of the lead up to the big game.
The official halftime show will have world-renowned rockers Green Day take the stage while the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes battle for the coveted trophy.

The festivities will also lead to a number of temporary road closures this week, which are listed on the City of Hamilton’s website.
