Brampton Courthouse to reopen Monday

Normal operations will resume Monday morning at the Brampton Courthouse following Friday’s shooting in which an officer was injured and the shooter killed.
Constable Mike Klarenbeek, 53, was shot by a gunman before the gunman himself was shot and killed by police. Peel Regional Police say Klarenbeek is in stable condition and is talking to his family as he continues to recover.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation and says the man shot by police is believed to be a 46-year-old from Brampton. They say his family has not consented to release his name.
