Festival loses Friends at city hall

Hamilton’s Festival of Friends may miss out on city funds because councillors say they have yet to receive audited financial statements.

The statements date back to 2012 when rain impacted festival attendance, and it ended up with an $80,000 loss. Festival manager Loren Lieberman says he thought he provided enough information.

Lieberman adds withholding the $85,000 will not create a financial crisis. Lieberman plans to have his accountants provide the information city finance staff need.
