Killer Hall acquitted on new charges

Convicted killer Jeremy Hall has been found not guilty of two counts of counselling to commit murder.

The charges said Hall allegedly asked childhood friend Dwayne Utman to kill two Crown witnesses before they could testify against him on a gun charge. But Justice Gerald Taylor says he could not rely on the evidence of Utman because of his criminal history.

A year ago Hall was convicted of killing Billy Mason of Hamilton.

Hall will also stand trial later this year for second degree murder. He is accused of killing a fellow inmate at the Niagara Detention Centre.
