March Break rush at Pearson

Thousands of elementary and high school students start their March Break today… and that means a busy day at Pearson International Airport.

March Break is one of the busiest travel days of the year. Roughly 115,000 people are expected to pass through Pearson today – that’s over 20,000 more than on a typical day.

This year many travellers just wanted to get away from the cold. “Just get rid of the snow. It’s been too much, too much, all the shoveling. Get to relax, you know, and see the sights.”

Airport officials are advising travelers to get to the airport early as parking is at a premium. They say to keep a check on your flight status to ensure there are no last minute changes.
