Police appealing to public in murder

Hamilton Police want to hear from witnesses to Friday night’s deadly stabbings at Barton and Mary Sts.

The male victim has been identified as Richard Doucette, 28, of Hamilton. The autopsy confirmed the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.

The 39 year old female victim remains in hosptial and is listed as critical but stable condition.

A man was last seen running north on Mary St fleeing the scene.

He is being described as white, 5’10” to 6 feet tall, 150 to 170 pounds, 30 to 35 years old, with dark brown or black short hair that is neatly kept, wearing blue jeans, a light-coloured shirt and a black leather coat.
