One dead from Hamilton double stabbing

One man is dead and a woman is in hospital after stabbed in Hamilton Friday evening within a few minutes or so of each other.

Police have a large area taped off — and several emergency units are on scene.

The incident occurred between 10 and 10:15pm. Barton Street is closed in both directions between Mary and Catharine.

Reports say the man who died was stabbed in the abdomen and was taken to hospital without vital signs. That man was said to be in his 20’s.

Another person, reportedly a woman in her 30’s, was also taken to hospital in serious condition.

At least 3 witnesses have been put in police vans.

Police K-9 units scoured a one block area around the scene. No arrests have been made as yet.
