Dog given oxygen after Oakville house fire

A dog has been rescued from a house fire in Oakville.

Neighbours called 911 when they saw smoke coming from the home on Germorda Drive last night. The fire was in the basement, and crews were able to get it under control fairly quickly.

No one was home, but the family’s dog was given oxygen in the driveway. It appeared to be the fine when the Oakville & Milton Humane Society arrived to take it into their care.

There’s no word on a damage estimate.
