Police execute warrant in gas plant scandal

The OPP executed a search warrant yesterday, looking for government computers at a storage facility, as part of their investigation into deleted emails by senior Liberals on the cancelled gas plants. Both opposition parties say the raid is proof that information on the cancelled gas plants in Oakville and Mississauga is still being withheld.
NDP energy critic Peter Tabuns calls the situation troubling. “It said to me that an OPP anti-rackets squad raid on a facility that was tied to the Liberals shows that the police are taking this very seriously.”
PC finance critic Vic Fedeli insists the premier is still hiding something.
“Look, the OPP had enough evidence to compel a judge to issue a search warrant. Kathleen Wynne needs to come clean with Ontario and tell us what she knows. She was the co-chair of the campaign that authorized the Mississauga gas plant cancellation. She was the chair of cabinet, her signature is at the very top of the document that authorized the Oakville deal. She has to come clean.”
Premier Kathleen Wynne has testified twice at the committee hearings into the gas plants.
