Brantford Police say a violent sexual assault reported last week did not happen.

A 20 year old woman reported the attack last friday on Dalhousie Street. She told police someone grabbed her from behind as she was getting out her car, hit her head, and knocked her out.

The woman claimed she woke up a short time later partially clothed, and called police from a nearby house.

Police say their major crime unit has completed an intensive investigation and determined the assault did not happen.
