Burlington to update Brant Pier costs

We’re about to find out more about the legal fees paid for Burlington’s Brant St Pier.

City manager Jeff Fielding says a council meeting will be held today to clarify what information will be released at a news conference on Thursday.
That day, we’ll also hear the status of litigation around the pier.

The Burlington Post filed a freedom of information request for the documents with the city in September, and is now in mediation.

There have been five lawsuits related to the pre-2011 construction of the new pier. The original budget in 2005 was $6.2 million, but the pier opened in June with a price tag of $14.4 million.
