Lincoln Alexander Day upcoming

This Tuesday will mark the first official Lincoln Alexander Day.

Last year MPP’s voted to recognize Canada’s first black Member of Parliament, and Lieutenant Governor of Ontario every January 21st, his birthdate.

Alexander, known to many as “Linc” died in 2012 but his legacy lives on. In addition to the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton, several public buildings carry his name. One of them is a school on Ravenbury Drive and students there are preparing to take part in a special celebration at Queen’s Park next week.
