Dozens of people walked across Hamilton Wednesday to raise awareness and support for Syrian refugees.

“Refugees to Neighbours” is a group from Hamilton, Burlington and Guelph sponsoring a family from Syria.

They hosted the 10km walk from Gage Park to McMaster University, Wednesday afternoon.

The group says they are looking for sponsoring groups and supporters in order to say Hamilton is a welcoming city.

A total of 17 Syrian Refugees arrived at Wesley Urban Ministry in Hamilton on Monday.

They will stay there for about two weeks.
