Gore Park recognizes the Jewish community

The look of the holidays is changing in Hamilton this year.

For the first time ever, a menorah now sits next to the nativity scene in Gore Park. The 12-foot menorah was lit tonight to mark the beginning of the Jewish holiday.

City councillor Aidan Johnson says the project was sparked by community members who sometimes felt marginalized.

Each evening at sunset, an additional candle will be lit for the next eight days.
