Fire rages at Burlington metals recycling plant

It took more than two hours for firefighters to gain control of an industrial fire in Burlington this morning.

Heavy smoke started billowing from the Dominion Nickel Alloys plant on Appleby Line at about 8:30. The plant is involved in scrap metal recycling.

Witnesses at the scene suggest there is severe structural damage to the building. There have been no reports of injuries.

There’s no word yet on the cause.
