Firefighter dies while walking dogs

A 48 year old firefighter is dead after doing what so many do every day, walking his dogs. Tim Vail was in the area of the old Prudomme’s Landing, which is just minutes away from St. Catharines.
The initial 911 calls that came in last night indicate he fell in a deep hole while trying to rescue one of his dogs. He was trapped and fatally injured.

The veteran firefighter leaves behind his wife Samantha and his teenage children Tanner and Abby.

This year he would have been recognized for 20 year, long term service as a firefighter.
