Police investigate assault at Big Bear Market

Hamilton police have taped off an area around the Big Bear Food Market at the corner of King Street East and Holton Avenue South for an assault investigation.

Police received a call just before 3:40am about a 50-year old man being assaulted at Wally’s World Bar and Grill at King East and Gibson.

The man then ran to the Big Bear Food Market parking lot where he was assaulted again. One of the weapons reportedly used was a table leg (seen in the picture of the parking lot).

Forensics units have been on the scene since early Sunday morning.

People at the scene saw a pool of blood on the ground in the parking lot of the market.

There is also tape in front of Wally’s World Bar and Grill at King and Gibson.

The 50-year old man was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

No arrests have been made and police would like to hear with anyone who has information on the incident.
