Hamilton Police have arrested a 15 year old boy after a shooting inside a Tim Hortons this weekend.

The shooting happened at the Hortons on Barton near Melrose, not far from Tim Hortons Field on Saturday afternoon.

There had been a fight between two teens and one shot was fired. One of them suffered minor injuries and was quickly found by police. The gunman was arrested at his home later that night and faces several charges.

His name can’t be released because of his age. police say the shooting wasn’t random and they believe the teens knew each other.

It happened around two in the afternoon in a crowded store. Because it was so close to Tim Hortons Field and there was a Ticat game that afternoon, there were a lot of people in the area.

This is just the latest in a string of shootings in the city. Several happening in the middle of the day and many involving young people.
