Building permits up in February

Canadian municipalities issued $6 billion worth of building permits in February, up 1.7% from January.

Statistics Canada says more construction in the non-residential sector in eight provinces offset a dip in residential construction projects, which fell over 7% to $3.6 billion. However, the total value of building permits has been on a downward spiral since late 2012.
