Wentworth apartment fire

A young girl is in hospital after a fire in central Hamilton.

Hamilton crews responded to an apartment fire at 47 Wentworth Street South at around 2:30 this afternoon.

One woman was helped from the second storey while the young girl and her mother were rescued by ladder from the third storey.

The girl was taken to McMaster Children’s hospital as a precaution. She is expected to be ok.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point.
