Para Pan Am Torchbearer

A young Hamilton man with down syndrome has earned the chance of a lifetime.
He’s been asked to be a torchbearer for the Para-Pan Am games. and next week, he’ll help carry the olympic torch around Hamilton’s Bayfront Park.
Michael Joseph was born with down syndrome but it hasn’t slowed him down a bit.
That’s why the Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton nominated Michael to be a torch bearer for the Para Pan Am Games torch relay.
The Hamilton leg of the torch relay will be at Bayfront Park next Tuesday and Michael may even get to take part in a karate demonstration beforehand.
