Police and Fire Marshall investigating Hamilton house fire

Police and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office are investigating an early morning fire at an east Hamilton home. It’s the same house that was the target of a shooting earlier this month. The fire started just before 2 am at 86 Delawana Drive.
Nobody was home at the time and damage is estimated around 60-thousand dollars. Some people reported hearing popping glass and you could still see parts of a window that had blown out on a nearby walkway between the home and the house next door.
Neighbours say that the people that lived in the home moved out yesterday but weren’t able to provide many details about them.
86 Delawana is the same home that was involved in a shooting on May 13th. Four people have been arrested in that case. Police say so far it’s too early to connect the fire to the shootings.
Hamilton Police arson unit is assisting the Fire Marshal’s office in determining the cause of this morning’s blaze.
