At the age of 16, a driver’s licence is like a passport to freedom and independence.

A ticket to go anywhere you want to, whenever you want to go. But what if you lost that ticket –
permanently?

That frightening prospect is becoming more real for thousands of the most experienced drivers on the road. Senior citizens are coming under increasing scrutiny for issues of driver safety. And they are also facing higher car insurance costs, for the first time in decades. Scot Urquhart takes a look at some of the issues, and a possible new tool designed to restore confidence and ability to elderly drivers:
