Brebeuf stabbing victim recovering in hospital

A student at St Jean de Brebeuf high school in Hamilton remains in hospital after being stabbed during a fight there yesterday afternoon.

The victim received stab wounds to his rib cage and spleen. CHCH News spoke with the victim’s father, who says his 17-year-old son was trying to break up a fight between two other students when he was stabbed.

The school was placed in a hold and secure for about 30 minutes. Police say a 16 year old student was taken into custody and is facing several charges including assault with a weapon.
