Barn fires

A suspected arsonist is rattling the nerves of residents in rural west Niagara and Hamilton. 4 buildings were torched over the weekend, 3 within minutes of each other.
The first fire call came in about 11:30pm Saturday night for an abandoned duplex and concrete block garage on Vaughn near Port Davidson in West Lincoln. While firefighters were busy battling the blaze another fire came in this one on south Chippawa road it was an abandoned barn you could still smell the smoke this afternoon.
Less than an hour after that another building was torched on Grassie road and at this point fire fighters were stretched to the limit. Then at 3 in the morning on Westbrook road in Hamilton there was another suspected arson. Police are asking for public’s help.
Fortunately no one was injured in the weekend fires, some farm equipment, hay and property were destroyed but people are asking the next time a building goes up in flames, will they be so lucky.
