There’s no party like a cupcake party

To help get everyone in a sweet mood, the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA held a Valentine’s Day cupcake party at Eastgate Square in Hamilton.
Our own Elise Copps got a jump on her competition, including Hamilton East MPP Paul Miller and Bruiser from the Hamilton Bulldogs as they raced the clock to construct their giant cupcake.
Before the main event youngsters played with balloons, had their likenesses drawn and made some Valentine’s Day cards for tomorrow. All the goodies were supplied by stores at the mall.
HBSPCA co-ordinator Sylvie MacLean says all the sugar sweetness is for a worthy cause. “It’s a great day. National Cupcake Day is an event that is taking place across Canada next Monday, February 23rd. You can bake, raise funds and help the animals who need help and who are homeless and who need to be adopted.”
The prize was $500 dollars that was donated to the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA.
