Remembering Frank Volterman

In Hamilton tonight many are mourning the loss of Frank Volterman. The WWII veteran received the French legion of honour just a few weeks ago.

Mr Volterman recieved the honour on January 26th for his heroic involvement in the Battle of Dieppe. He was a medic and helped wounded soldiers.

Nearly one thousand Canadian soldiers died in Dieppe as they were fighting to help liberate France from the Nazis.

There are now only five known living royal hamilton light infantry world war two veterans.
