Construction begins on Royal Connaught condos

Construction has officially begun at the Residences of Royal Connaught in Hamilton.

The former hotel on King St has already had a major facelift, with dazzling chandeliers hanging from 23 foot ceilings in the lobby, next to original ornate mouldings and columns. This week, they’re starting the demolition to lay the framework for the condo units.

80 per cent of the first phase has been sold already. Developer Ted Valeri says he’s very happy about the reception they’ve received from buyers.

“Everybody’s excited about it, everybody’s been waiting for it, and I think this is exactly what the downtown core was waiting for to kickstart it and bring it back, not to the way it was, but for a new downtown revitalization. ”

The developers plan to release the penthouses shortly, before releasing phase two of the building.
