New superbug worries
If you’ve been a patient in hospital recently, chances are you’ve been screened for the latest superbug to hit North America.
It appeared in two Toronto hospitals last year. But infection control experts have known about it since 2009, when it was first identified in a Swedish patient who had travelled to India for elective surgery. Maria Hayes explains.
