Chase for stolen car ends up in three car pileup

A Hamilton man took matters into his own hands when he decided to chase the person who stole his truck which ended up in a three car crash.
It happened in the Kirkendale neighbourhood in the city’s central region.
The crash halted traffic at around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Queen Street South and Herkimer Street.
Hamilton Police received dozens of calls from citizens reporting a road rage incident.
The situation started on Hamilton mountain in the area of Sanatorium and Garth and continued down Beckett Drive. Police said a man watched as his truck and trailer were stolen. That man borrowed a friend’s vehicle and chased after his stolen truck.
The two vehicles collided, striking a third which became trapped underneath the truck.
Paramedics and fire crews were also on the scene but no injuries were reported.
Police said the suspect took off on foot. Their investigation continues.
