Serious crash closes lanes on Hwy 407

Just after 2 pm, a tractor trailer and a car collided in the eastbound lanes of 407 just past the 401 exit in Mississauga.

The car rolled over and the truck mounted the median. The driver of the car was trapped and had to be pulled from they car by fire crews. He was then airlifted to hospital in serious condition.  The tractor trailer burst into flames and had to be extinguished.

Eastbound lanes of the 407 were closed for several hours while the OPP collision re-construction team investigated.
