NICU Reunion Picnic

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at McMaster Children’s Hospital hosted its annual picnic for the families who endured those days, weeks, or months of uncertainty.

The majority of these children at the NICU picnic were once tiny infants who needed special care from many nurses and doctors. While they may not know it, they have a special place in the hearts of many NICU staff.

The picnic was farm themed this year to the delight of the children. It is really a family reunion of sorts, a time to reconnect with the nurses and doctors who saved many of these kids lives and a time to see old friends that were made in the NICU.  For many families, this picnic is a celebration for overcoming their most challenging days.  They all are so thankful for the staff who helped them through.
