Man comes forward to police after suspicious incident at Burlington school

UPDATED
The man who was seen speaking with two children outside of a Burlington public school on Tuesday has come forward to police.
Investigators say they have confirmed that nothing inappropriate happened during the interaction between the man and the students.
Police had issued a release on Wednesday asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who was seen speaking with two young boys outside Bruce T. Lindley Public School around 5:15 p.m.
The man pulled into the parking lot and started playing with a remote control car which caught the attention of two nearby students who were taking part in an after school program.
A nearby staff member saw the interaction and approached the vehicle. The man then got back into his minivan and left the parking lot before staff could speak with him.
In a news release Thursday, police said, “Investigators have confirmed that nothing untoward occurred during the interaction between this person & the boys observed in the school lot.”
