A nine-year-old boy had to be rope rescued at Albion Falls in Hamilton on Sunday, making it the city’s sixth rope rescue this month and the fifth at Albion Falls.
Hamilton Fire spokesperson Claudio Mostacci said the boy fell down 30 feet. Paramedics said the boy did suffer serious injuries but is expected to be okay.
It’s the second rescue of the weekend. On Saturday evening a young man fell down Webster’s Falls in Flamborough and the rescue took around two hours to complete.
A young man believed to be in his 20’s fell and was found 100 feet below at the bottom of the falls. He was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
Hamilton Fire officials said hikers should check the city’s website for safety tips before heading out to any of the trails.
