Police are investigating a serious crash on Highway 5 near Flamboro Downs.

It happened around 2pm, an 83 year old woman driving a Buick Century was leaving Flamboro Downs when she entered Highway 5 right in front of an oncoming dump truck.

The woman was pulled from her vehicle by firefighters and was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

Highway 5 was closed from Brock rd. to Flamboro Downs while the OPP collision reconstruction team investigated. It has since reopened.
