Safety at Albion Falls

[projekktor id=’28337′]
This past weekend, one man fell to his death at Albion Falls and three others needed to be rescued. Fire officials and city councillors don’t know what more they can do to get the message out.
There are signs all around that read say “danger keep out, steep drop” but those signs are being ignored by some people. “You saw the sign, still went past it, how come? Curiosity.”
Councillor Tom Jackson is fed up with curiosity causing so many accidents at Albion Falls. Last year Hamilton fire fighters performed 25 rope rescues at Hamilton waterfalls, including 6 at Albion Falls. Already this year they’ve performed 4 rope rescues, 3 of them at Albion.
“What’s really happening is people aren’t paying attention to their surroundings, they’re not preparing themselves for when they go to these locations, and they’re putting themselves and the community at risk.” Dave Forster, Hamilton fire.
Tom Jackson is meeting with fire and police officials later this month to see if more can be done to prevent accidents.
